On The Mend Dog Rescue is an independent, not for profit shelter which rescues, rehabilitates and re-homes abused and neglected dogs, serving Westmorland County and surrounding areas.

On The Mend Dog Rescue provides a safe environment for dogs while they prepare for their forever homes.  All rehabilitations are conducted in our home.  We work with non-adoptable dogs and request that all dogs be assessed prior to admission, subject to available space.

If you are looking to adopt a perfect dog, don’t look here!  Rescued dogs require ongoing leadership; some need a little, some need a lot!  We offer leadership programs to teach you how to be a pack leader so you can love your dog for life!

When surrendering a dog to On The Mend Dog Rescue, we assure you no blame will be issued.  We will assess your dog and discuss your options.  If surrender is the only option, you will have all the pertinent information to make the right decision for the welfare of the dog and for your family.

Once the decision is made to surrender the dog to On The Mend Dog Rescue, all efforts will be made to give your dog the best quality of life.  We will go to any lengths.  We will try to match up the best possible placement for the next chapter in your dog’s life and keep you posted too!

We offer life long support with all adoptions from
On The Mend Dog Rescue.
